Everybody has different preferences for "music to fist or fuck to". My personal preference is dance / trance music for play sessions and chillout / classical for after play relaxation.

Deep & Chilled Euphoria

Once again Euphoria & Red Jerry deliver a superb mix for the ultimate post clubbing experience. The first Chilled Euphoria, which was released early 2000 took a different path to Euphoria's usual 'bangin trance' selection & this one is even better. The great thing about the track listing is most started life as 'bangin trance' workouts, but have been given the remix treatment to near perfection.

"Hot on the heels of the first Euphoria compilation of Summer 2000, the commercial ambient workout that was Chilled Euphoria, came Ibiza Euphoria - the soundtrack to the night before the morning after - an energetic double CD mix of bronzed, athletic hard house and pneumatic dance floor trance. With Alex Gold (the boss of Balearic dance label Xtravaganza) and Privilege residents Agnelli & Nelson taking to the decks, the emphasis is on high BPM podium-storming numbers--see the likes of Mothers Pride's "Learning To Fly", Faithless girl Sister Bliss' "Sister Sister", and a worthy Paul Van Dyk-overhauled take on Tranceparents' "Child 2". This being an Ibizan compilation, it sometimes all gets a little bit too Robert Miles-esque for the serious trancer--there's a few too many cheesy sunrise-on-the-beach moments for comfort--and bafflingly, the some of the track choices are hardly diverse--two overhauled Frankie Goes To Hollywood tracks, and a worrying tendency towards trance wallpaper like Chicane or BT. Ibiza Euphoria offers an enjoyable, sturdy mix for the unfussy clubber, but if you're looking for a bit more diversity, try a Gatecrasher or Global Underground compilation."

Progressive Euphoria

This is the 11th in the successful Progressive Euphoria series and follows hot on the heels of Dave Pearce's recent outing. John "00" Fleming is one of the prog scene's foremost exponents and has come up with a worthy mix album of the latest progressive stormers. Eschewing anything too dark or hard, the DJ takes us through a variety of tracks that show almost all sides of the progressive phenomenon. Cevin Fisher and Shelia Smith's soulful "Love You Some More" (Moogwai mix) sit next to classics such as Sander Kleinenberg's "Venus and Mars", Storm's "Time to Burn" (Pascal FEOS mix) and Astral Projection's rare mix of Faithless' "God is a DJ" monster. Total Euphoria

The mix is impressive! Tracks suchs as Accadia's 'into the dawn' and Insigma's 'open our eyes' are as tasty as they are uplifting. The mixing is a delight to listen to with peak moments such as when Daveboy Phat drops PPK's 'ressurection' (robots outro) right at the end of 'Outlaw' by Fu Man Choo - itself, a dancefloor devastator. It'll really sends shivers down your spine.

Transcendental Euphoria

"This album possibly delivers more than any of the other albums of the series, perhaps with the exeption of "Pure Euphoria". Yet again The Euphoria boys have come up with a storming set of mixes, which do not disappoint. Usually with the old two CD's mix compilations it turns out that one CD is preferable to the other, not here, oh no, both CD's are beautifully mixed with some quality choices of tracks. The man like Dave Pearce returns for another sizzling mix up of what's been hot in clubland over the last few months in the guise of True Euphoria, not content with getting our hands in the air with his previous Transcendental Euphoria. Juggling no fewer than 38 cuts, he manages to build a diverse but connected set that starts with Moby's euphoric "Hymn" and ends with Mekka's "Diamondback". Between these two bookends, Pearce slams home obvious classics alongside lesser known but still undeniably solid tracks, subsequently building a quite captivating set that reflects his typically varied and considered approach. Breakdown - Very Best Euphoric Chillout Mixes - Volume 1

There are some superb remixes on both of the CDs notably the Moonwatchers versions of Three Drives: Greece 2000 and Dutch Force's: Deadline, as well as not forgeting The Thrillseekers fantastic remix of Saltwater. The highlight of this amazing comp is Alaska's phenominal chilled out version of the Thrillseekers epic club tune Synaesthasia (Fly Away). It is simply pure, chilled euphoria, and combined with the great vocal overlay of Sheryl Deane, leaves you on another level at the end of Cd 1. And you still have all the whole of CD 2 to get through which is more of the same - the very best euphoric chillout tunes! A very key feature to the enjoyment of listening to this CD is that the mixing is second to none! The tracks simply merge into one long flow of relaxed, blissful music.

Cafe Del Mar - 2 - Aria

Chilled Out Euphoria - Volume 3

Solar Stone has done an extraordinary job of laboring to not only put a bunch of chillout songs together but to really take the listener through a journey within his or herself and to absorb every note and tune. Starting with CD 1 we have some all time classic's along with some heat of the moment tracks such as Tall Paul's vs. Inxs' "Precious Heart" which is an awe inspiring version of the 80's classic. We are also treated to the heavenly vocals of a certain Jan Johnston courtesy of Libra's "Calling Your Name" On CD 2 we are honored with the blissed out melodies of Art Of Noise's "Moments In Love" as well as William Orbits exquisite rendition of "In A Landscape" But My favorite track of all has to be 2ND Element's "Underwaterfall" an absolutely wonderous and beautiful track that reminds me nothing more than my lovely and gorgeous girlfriend. Also included are new versions of fairly new tracks such as Jakkata's "American Dream" and Orbital's "Belfast" If their is something that you are looking to add to your list, make this Euphoria your top priority.

Songs Of Sanctuary

"If you have seen a Delta Airlines television commercial that features an African-sounding, childlike choral chant in its soundtrack, you have experienced the title track from Songs of Sanctuary. Adiemus is largely the brainchild of former Soft Machine keyboardist Karl Jenkins, with participation from independent vocalist Miriam Stockley, a native of South Africa; the London Philharmonic Orchestra (which Jenkins conducts on this album) and others. The music of Adiemus will prompt inevitable comparisons to acts such as Dead Can Dance, Enigma and Deep Forest. In the album's liner notes, Jenkins describes the album as "an extended choral-type work based on the European classical tradition, but where the vocal sound is more akin to 'ethnic' or 'world' music." The music of Adiemus, Jenkins later explains, includes voices but not lyrics: "The text was written phonetically with the words viewed as instrumental sound, the idea being to maximise the melisma (an expressive vocal phrase) by removing the distraction, if one can call it that, of words." Ranging in mood from gently tribal to ecclesiastical, Adiemus succeeds in creating the impression of an enchanted global youth or female choir, yet one less forebodingly mysterious than any of the groups previously mentioned. Here you will find textures similar to the ethereal vocalese found in some of Mike Oldfield's more beatific works. The textures are largely uplifting, set within intelligent, classically influenced musical frameworks."

Pure Chill Out

This album has a great mix of really, mellow ambient songs and some very still-danceable songs too. Very good danceable tracks are Bent's "Always", and Fila Brazilla's "A Zed & @ L's". Other very commendable ambient, well written songs are "Stars", by Nightmare on Wax, "Opium" by Moodswings, "The Orbiting Beatnik" by Julee Cruise, "Enchanted" by Delerium. Cleverly done at times, with Julie Cruise's whispering "The Orbiting Beatnik," though Afterlife leave the biggest impression on their mixture of chanteuse, faint sax with piano, and slow bongos on "Makes Me Feel." Heather Nova's sweeping "Gloomy Sunday" has the lifting orchestration and delivery plucked straight from a stage musical, a fresh idea rarely heard in dance.
